When scheduling your appointment, be sure to ask for a preventive care visit. This is often called an annual checkup and will focus only on preventive care.
You should always verify that your physician is an in-network provider for the Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO network by:
- Calling your physician’s office and asking if they are an in-network provider and
- Logging into Highmark BCBS, choosing the “Find a Provider” tab at the top of the page and following the prompts.
Services provided by an out-of-network physician will not be covered as preventive care.
Services provided by an out-of-network physician may be subject to a deductible and co-insurance.
