What are examples of procedures covered under Cigna Dental?

Class I: Preventative and Diagnostic Care for dental insurance includes:

  • Routine oral examinations — two times per calendar year
  • Routine dental cleanings — two times per calendar year
  • Bitewing X-rays — once every 12 months
  • Fluoride treatments for children under age 14 — one treatment every 12 months

Class II:  Basic Restorative Care for dental insurance include:

  • Panoramic X-ray — once every 60 months
  • New fillings/replacement fillings — once every 24 months per filling
  • Simple extractions

Class III: Major Restorative Care for dental insurance include:

  • Endodontic treatment (root canal)
  • Dentures
  • Crowns
  • Implants
  • Prosthesis over implant

Class IV: 

  • Othodontia (see plan booklet for more info)
