After an application for Personal Plan coverage has been made, when do insurance products become effective?

Life and Disability coverage require submission of an Evidence of Good Health Application and will be effective on the date of approval. This process can take up to eight weeks while required information is collected and reviewed.

Accidental Death and Dismemberment, and/or Supplemental Accident coverage are effective the day the application is received by GuideStone, regardless of underwriting requirements for life and disability coverage.

Medical coverage becomes effective on the date of a qualifying event or the date of approval of Evidence of Good Health, if required.

Dental and Vision coverage become effective on the date of a qualifying event or January 1st if requested during re-enrollment. These coverages may not be applied for through the Evidence of Good Health Application.
